I am currently Professor of Clarinet at California State University, Northridge. Prior to my appointment at CSUN I held positions at Valdosta State University and Luther College. I have also held the position of principal clarinet with the Dubuque (IA), LaCrosse (WI), and the Valdosta (GA) Symphony Orchestras.

I received my Bachelor's degree magna cum laude from the University of Minnesota, an M.M. degree from the University of Michigan and a D.M.A. degree from the University of Minnesota.

My teachers have included Robert Marcellus, John Anderson, J. Cloyde Williams, Herbert Blayman and Timothy Paradise.

I was a finalist in the 1983 International Clarinet Competition and a winner in the 1986 WAMSO and 1990 Jacksonville, MacMurray Young Artist Competitions. I have been a featured soloist on Minnesota Public Radio's Live from Landmark series and Chicago Public Radio's Dame Myra Hess broadcasts. I am a frequent chamber musician and have twice been a finalist in the Fischoff International Chamber Music Competition. I have recently performed as a soloist and chamber musician at the College Music Society International Conference in Berlin, the International Clarinet Society Conference, and the International Double Reed Society Conference.

I have performed as a soloist extensively in the United States and throughout Europe. I have been featured as a concerto soloist twice with the LaCrosse Symphony Orchestra, performing the Mozart and Weber Concertos. I have performed as a soloist frequently with college bands and orchestras, most recently with the Suwanne High School Band at the Southeastern United States Band Festival, the Valdosta College Wind Ensemble and Concert Band at the Southern Division Music Educators Meeting, and the CSUN Wind Ensemble and Honor Band.
